False cliffs in trial conversion charts

A missing payment-success event can invent a conversion drop that the cohort never caused.

Revenue meetings escalate when a path chart shows a steep cliff between trial start and first charge. Sometimes that cliff is real. Often the payment-success step never fired after a store prompt, or only fired on one platform.

Before rewriting pricing, walk the path on devices your subscribers hold and watch the live stream. Note every silent miss. Ask whether the step is client-only, server-confirmed, or both.

Identity resets between web and app are another quiet culprit. Users who continue on a second device look like new trials who abandoned mid-path. MRR Signal Blueprint exists to catch that before the roadmap absorbs the wrong story.
